Amaravati, April 29:
The number of beds for Covid patients will be increased to 3,000 in each district. The Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy gave orders to install oxygen manufacturing units in every hospital.
During a review meeting held at camp office here on Thursday, the Chief Minister said Covid hospitals should have 1000 oxygen beds and 2000 non oxygen beds in every district.
He ordered that the rates being paid to empanelled private hospitals for covid treatment be increased along with the rates applicable for Arogyasri hospitals. He said measures should be taken to ensure that no hospital denied treatment to covid patients. The salaries of FNOs and MNOs working in Covid hospitals should be enhanced . The Chief Minister directed the officials to recruit required doctors, nurses and para medical staff in all covid hospitals in the state.
The Chief Minister directed the officials to set up 42 PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption) plants to ensure required oxygen for Covid hospitals. He sought procurement of Oxygen tankers and ensure 10KL capacity tankers were available at every teaching hospital and 1 KL tankers at other hospitals.
The officials informed the Chief Minister that there were 35,644 beds available in 422 Covid hospitals (public and private) of which 21,590 were occupied. About 79,000 patients were under home isolation and another 6,348 were in Covid care centers and 14,862 patients were being treated on oxygen beds, with 14,000 new cases in the last 24 hours, officials said.
