Visakhapatnam, June 2:
After languishing for four years in the Pakistan prison, Prasanth of Visakhapatnam had an emotional reunion with his parents in the city on Wednesday.
Prasanth, a software engineer in Hyderabad, had fallen in love with a girl who later left for Switzerland. The techie, in a bid to meet his sweetheart, left for Switzerland via Pakistan in April 2017. However, his dreams of meeting the girl ended in travails when the Pakistan police had taken him into custody on the border as he had no valid documents.
After four years of mental agony and torture, Peasanth was released from the prison on Tuesday and he was handed over to his brother who is staying in Hyderabad.
Addressing the media after arriving in the city on Wednesday, Mr. Prasanth said in a voice chocked with emotion: “I never expected that I would see my parents in my lifetime.”
He appealed to the youth not to take hasty decisions like him turning a deaf ear to the advices of parents.
Mr. Prasanth, who narrated his tale of woes in the prison, said there were some more Indians in the Pakistan jail and urged the Union government to initiate measures for their release.
