Visakhapatnam, May 27 :
Savouring the mouth-watering pani puri, tangy mango pieces with a touch a salt and chilli powder, and spicy mori mixture while watching the tides at sea amid cool breeze is an amazing experience for Vizagites during the peak summer in May. But this time, the beach side thrill is missing, thanks to the restrictions imposed in the wake of the dreaded second wave of COVID-19. The otherwise overcrowded beach wears a deserted look losing its sheen. But for the police on duty, people are hardly seen on beach road.
The beach is generally flooded with visitors, who include foreigners, during summer as it is one of the favourite tourist destinations with many an attraction. Vizagites thong the beach and Kailasagiri in the evenings to relax and have some cool breeze during summer.
Adding to the woes of corona and black fungus, heatwave conditions for the past two days make the life miserable for the people. Season’s highest temperature of 42.2 degree Celsius was recorded in the city on Wednesday against the average normal temperature of 33 degree Celsius making people suffocate in the four walls.
Meanwhile, it is predicted that the heatwave conditions will continue in the next couple of days.
Bereft of any entertainment, people in the city are eagerly awaiting an end to this pandemic blues to have some fun and frolic.
